Story Pick + Mix is a series of wild tales for willing ears in the heart of London: stand-up storytelling for anyone who wants to give their imaginations a treat.

A new collaboration with House of Rumour, this is our place for rough cuts of new work, upcoming voices, and odd or experimental performances that we didn’t quite know what to do with…

Expect stories as delicious and varied as a childhood bag of sweets, all in the intimate splendour of Theatre Deli – one of London’s liveliest creative communities.

Story Pick + Mix aims to bring spark, diversity and variety to London’s story performance scene, with a programme of established master tellers previewing new work, emerging artists giving fresh voice to ancient stories … and everything in between.

Each month’s event showcases one performance, and is hosted by House of Rumour founder Laura Sampson, a storyteller as obsessed with sweets as she is with stories.

To tickle the imagination, Laura will introduce each show as if it were really a particular type of childhood candy. After the show, the audience will be invited to create their own ‘pick+mix metaphor’ for what they’ve just seen, to add to the Story Pick + Mix Library. Actual candy (and occasionally, actual drinks) will be available free for those whose teeth can still handle it …
