Flyer - From The Odd

Tim’s Ralphs’ ‘From The Odd’ is quite simply one of the best multi-story short storytelling shows available for booking for young, adult, intelligent and metropolitan audiences. The Crick Crack Club tends to use this show as a comedic and lively first half of selected double-bill programmes.

Biography
There’s something about Tim Ralphs…if you google him, you’ll find he’s been publicly pondering whether the cooking of gnocchi can be likened to an initiation into some Mithras cult – and when he appears on a stage, there is an element in the audience clearly battling with a freeze or flee dilemma – for about 60 seconds - after which they know... we all know... that they’re sitting in some of the most entertaining seats in town.

An award winning young storyteller in 2007, Tim's performance style is energetic and his composition knows no bounds. Striving always to innovate, his work draws on our international narrative inheritance, the ever-changing cityscape of his home, fairytale, myth and legend. His performances merge the contemporary with the ancient with enviable integrity and a touch of genius.

Tim Ralph’s performances have already graced the stages of London’s Soho Theatre, the Barbican, the Tristan Bates Theatre, Beyond the Border International Storytelling Festival, and Huddersfield Literature Festival.

From the Odd
Performance storytelling by Tim Ralphs

Undisputed master of the odd, Tim Ralphs, brings together a set of stories randomly curated from the contents of a Sheffield skip, and selected by you, the audience, on the night.

This is a spectacular re-imagining of some of the most familiar material in myth, folktale and nursery rhyme – treated with reverence, love, sewing scissors and a welding iron. The resultant panoply of resonant imagery includes, Orpheus' Lyre, urban landscapes, the Devil playing scrabble, stars, sheds, and jocular cannibals.

Let Tim take you to the edge, and back...
